Dr. Yusuke Nasu began his academic journey at the University of Tokyo, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the Faculty of Science, followed by a Master of Science and a PhD from the Department of Chemistry, School of Science. During his graduate studies, Dr. Nasu worked under the guidance of Professor Takeaki Ozawa, focusing on the development of fluorescent biosensors to analyze cell death.

Upon completing his PhD, Dr. Nasu joined Roche, where he contributed to the advancement of drug purity analysis through the development of impurity testing methodologies. His passion for research led him to the University of Alberta and the University of Tokyo for postdoctoral work in the lab of Professor Robert E. Campbell. Here, Dr. Nasu applied his expertise in protein engineering to create innovative fluorescent biosensors tailored for neuroscience applications.

Currently, Dr. Nasu is an Assistant Research Fellow at the Institute of Biological Chemistry, Academia Sinica. He also holds an adjunct Assistant Professorship at Institute of Biochemical Sciences, National Taiwan University. Dr. Nasu is actively involved in the Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP), contributing to both the Chemical Biology and Molecular Biophysics (CBMB) and Interdisciplinary Neuroscience (INS) programs. Additionally, he is a core member of the Neuroscience Program at Academia Sinica (NPAS), where he continues to innovate in the field of biosensor technology, pushing the boundaries of neuroscience research.
